
Dr Jurita Engelbrecht is a Psychologist, Neurofeedback Therapist (BCIA certified) and a Certified TRE Provider. Her therapy dog, Shevonne is also part of her practice. She has been practising as an Educational Psychologist (PS0096067) since 2005.
Dr Engelbrecht's work experience includes: assessments (psycho-social, ortho-didactical, career guidance, forensic: family law matters), therapy (neurofeedback, trauma counselling, individual, family, group, marriage, substance abuse), peak performance training, supervision of intern-psychologist, mediation (parenting plans, disciplinary disputes, family disputes) and the presentation of various workshops and radio talks. She has also acted as an intermediary in court, as well as an external examiner for dissertations. Dr Engelbrecht served on SANCA (South African National Council on Alcoholism) Nelspruit's board for a period of two years and was a board member of Peas in a Pod, a children's home in Pretoria. Her name appears on list of mediators that was published by the Minister of Justice in 2014. Dr Engelbrecht was a co-author of an article, The Treatment for Substance Addiction with the Focus on the Family of Origin as a Possible Cause of Addiction that was published in December 2017 in The South African Journal for Social Work and Social Development. She is a member of The International Society for Neuroregulation & Research (ISNR) and the Biofeedback Association of South Africa (BFSA).
